I try to explain the intricacies and the logic behind each topic present in books.
For me understanding the rational and logic behind the learning is extremely important for sailing through the exams and the same is ensured in my class.

  • 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Chemistry has always fascinated me because it explains so much about how the world works. I still remember how amazed I was the first time I saw a simple acid-base reaction in school-it felt like magic, but with logic behind it. Over time, I realized that chemistry isn't just about formulas and equations; it's a part of our daily lives, from the food we cook to the air we breathe. That curiosity turned into a genuine interest, and that's what led me to pursue it further.
  • 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Honestly, I had some really inspiring teachers growing up who made learning fun and meaningful. One of my Chemistry teachers, in particular, made the subject feel so alive and connected to the real world. That made me think, "I want to do this too." I chose teaching because I enjoy helping others learn, and there's something incredibly rewarding about watching a student go from confused to confident.
  • 3. How does your work help society?

Teaching chemistry might not always feel like a big, world-changing job-but in many ways, it is. By educating students, I'm helping shape future scientists, doctors, researchers, and even environmentally conscious citizens. Beyond just the syllabus, I try to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and awareness of real-world issues like pollution and sustainability. These are the kinds of things that ripple out into society in powerful ways.
  • 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

Marie Curie is someone I really admire-not just because of her scientific achievements, but because of the kind of person she was. Her dedication, courage, and humility despite everything she accomplished is something I find very inspiring. She reminds me that hard work, curiosity, and persistence can really take you far, even when the odds are against you.
  • 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of work, I really enjoy reading (especially mystery novels), listening to music, and trying out new recipes-cooking is like kitchen chemistry, after all! I also like spending time outdoors whenever I can, whether it's gardening or just taking a walk to clear my mind.
  • 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

There's one student I'll never forget. In the beginning, they really struggled with the subject and were on the verge of giving up. But with time, effort, and a lot of one-on-one conversations, something clicked. Not only did they pass, they actually started enjoying Chemistry and went on to pursue science in college. Moments like that remind me why I chose this path-it's not just about teaching a subject, it's about building confidence and helping someone believe in themselves.
