About Charlotte

Hi, I’m a Bachelor of Science student at the University of Sydney, majoring in Genetics and Biochemistry. I graduated from high school with a 96 ATAR, and Biology was one of my strongest subjects. Having recently completed the HSC myself, I understand the challenges students face and know what it takes to succeed. I’m passionate about science and about helping others build both their knowledge and their confidence. My approach is supportive and patient, but also focused on results — I make sure lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether that’s mastering exam technique for Year 12 or sparking curiosity in younger learners. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their skills, and achieving their academic goals.

About the lesson

I know from my own HSC experience that science can feel overwhelming at times. That’s why I focus on making lessons clear, practical, and confidence-building. I break down tricky topics into simple steps and use real-world examples so students can actually see how the science works. For HSC Biology, I also put a big focus on exam skills — knowing the syllabus inside out, working through past papers, and learning how to answer questions in a way that gets maximum marks.

When I’m working with younger students, I take a more hands-on, curious approach. The goal isn’t just to get good marks but to actually enjoy learning and feel confident in class.

How I Teach
I like to start by figuring out where a student is at — their strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Then we build from there with a mix of explanations, practice questions, and plenty of discussion. I encourage students to ask questions and stay engaged rather than just sit and listen.

Lesson Length
Most of my lessons run for about an hour. That’s usually the sweet spot for covering new content and getting through practice without things feeling rushed or overwhelming. I’m also happy to run longer sessions when students are preparing for big exams or assessments.

A Bit About Me
I finished school with a 96 ATAR and I’m now studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney, majoring in Genetics and Biochemistry. Science has always been a strong point for me, and I enjoy helping other students reach their potential in the subject.
