About Luke

Hi! I’m Luke – I grew up in the Pilbara (graduated St Luke's College 2024) and I’m now a 2nd year UWA Doctor of Medicine (Assured Pathway) student. I was able to also receive Prestigious Lawrence Scholarship given to top performing 20 students and also a UWA Connect Scholarship from being a rural student. A few years ago I was only pulling 70s on most tests and felt completely average. I ended up with a 98.5 raw ATAR and School Dux not by being naturally gifted, but because I followed strategies, stuck to a proper schedule, and focused on truly understanding the work instead of just cramming. Becoming a doctor has always been my dream, so I was determined to make it happen and I want the same for you. There’s nothing better than studying what you love without having to compromise, and I’d love to help you get there, whether that’s medicine, engineering, or simply feeling confident and in control of your subjects. In my spare time I started learning piano, French, tennis and kendo, so I’m still pushing myself as a student every day. If you want a tutor who genuinely cares, explains things clearly, and will celebrate every bit of your progress, let’s do this together!

Chemistry: 79.49 exam → 76.89 overall
Physics: 78.46 exam → 77.4 overall
Japanese: Background Language 81.5
ATAR 99.95 Adjusted, ATAR 98.5 Unadjusted
I tutor all of the above plus: Human Biology ATAR (covered Year 11–12 content + university-level in med school)

Tutoring experience:
7+ months teaching at a well-known Perth tutoring center, and 6months private tutoring experience with total 12+ students – every single one improved, several by 20–30%+ within a single term 500+ hours of 1-on-1 lessons delivered
My teaching methodology & techniques:
I treat every student as an individual.
Lessons are built around four core principles:
True understanding first, I go right back to fundamentals if needed. No rote-learning shortcuts that fall apart in exams

Personalized study plans, In the first lesson we map exactly where you are, your target score/ATAR, and how much time you can realistically commit each week. Plan is built together with you and your parent.

Regular testing & feedback, Short topic tests every 2–3 weeks. I mark them the same night and adjust the very next lesson. Exam technique + past-paper mastery, Timed, exam-condition practice and every trick to grab the “easy” marks WACE gives away. Lessons are fully interactive: clear explanation → you attempt similar questions immediately → instant feedback → repeat until you can explain it back to me confidently. (we can go over difficult concepts until you understand as well)
Typical lesson length:
1.5 hours (most popular & recommended for Year 11/12 Methods, Spec, Chem, Phys, Human Bio)
2-hour intensive sessions recommended before tests/exams
