About Ann

Hi! I’m Ann, a Computer Science and Climate Studies student at Vanderbilt University with a passion for helping students succeed. I earned near-perfect scores on the SAT, PSAT, and ACT, was named a National Merit Scholar, scored highly on 20 AP exams, and graduated as the valedictorian of my high school. I’ve not only mastered the material but also the strategies behind high-stakes testing, and I’m here to help others do the same. I know how overwhelming academics and test prep can feel, but I also know that with the right guidance, every student can thrive. My tutoring is built on clarity, encouragement, and results. I create a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing their confidence. I treat every session as a partnership: my job is to listen carefully, explain thoughtfully, and guide each student toward real, measurable progress. Whether you’re preparing for the SAT/ACT or strengthening your foundation in math or computer science, I bring patience, structure, and a genuine commitment to your goals. I understand the material deeply and explain it in ways that actually stick. Let’s turn frustration into clarity and goals into achievements!

As a Computer Science and Climate Studies student at Vanderbilt University, I combine strong analytical training with a deep understanding of how students learn best. My approach is patient, personalized, and structured. I meet each student where they are, breaking down complex concepts into clear, digestible steps and focusing on problem-solving strategies that build lasting confidence.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review to reinforce previous material, followed by focused instruction on new topics using real-world examples, visual explanations, and tailored exercises. I always include time for questions and wrap up with a short summary to solidify understanding. While I am teaching, I also prepare a study document to go along with the content so that the student always has a resource to go back to even after the lesson is over.

From my perspective, standardized tests like the SAT and ACT follow a very simple and repetitive formula. I’ve mastered this formula and discovered that cracking these tests can actually be incredibly easy with the right kind of practice. My goal is to help students approach these exams strategically, not just academically.

What sets me apart is that I’ve been in my students’ shoes recently. I scored a 1510 on the PSAT and a 1570 on the SAT just a few years ago. I know firsthand what it takes to succeed and how to guide others to do the same. I don’t just teach content: I teach critical thinking, time management, and test-taking confidence.

My lessons are ideal for middle school and high school students preparing for the SAT/ACT, or looking for support in math (from pre-algebra to calculus) and computer science (intro programming, AP CS, algorithms, etc.). Whether you’re aiming for a top score or stronger academic skills, I’ll help you get there efficiently and effectively.
