About Evelyn
I am a veteran guitar tutor with 10 years of expertise teaching school and college-level students. I have successfully guided around 290 students, helping them build strong technical skills and a deep appreciation for music. My teaching philosophy is built on refinement, accountability, and collaboration, ensuring each student receives a well-rounded and personalized learning experience. I use practical examples from real playing scenarios to help students connect classroom learning with actual musical situations. My teaching method for Guitar, Music Theory, and Improvisation reflects ten years of helping students build well rounded musical skills through refined, structured coaching.
Refinement shapes how I plan lessons, moving students through clear stages from chords and strumming to fingerpicking, scales, and advanced technique.
Accountability plays a big role in my teaching, since I set clear practice goals with each student and track their progress regularly, helping them stay consistent and motivated.
Collaboration is something I actively encourage, especially through jam sessions or playing along with backing tracks, helping students learn to listen and adjust to other musicians.
Lessons typically start with proper hand posture, basic chords, and strumming patterns, gradually moving into fingerpicking, scales, and music theory fundamentals.
For more advanced students, I focus on lead guitar techniques, solo development, and genre specific styles such as rock, blues, or acoustic fingerstyle, along with performance training.
I adapt my teaching to each student's personal goals, whether they want to play casually, join a band, or pursue guitar professionally. My aim is a refined, accountable, and collaborative space where every student grows into a confident guitarist.
