About Samantha
My name is Sam and I have been teaching in the state of Illinois for the past 10 years. I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors degree in special education, and a minor in English. I have received my ESL endorsement a masters in educational leadership and a masters in curriculum instruction. I currently am teaching 6th grade math, however I also have experience with K-8 reading, writing, and math.
I am very passionate for what I do to ensure that students receive instruction in a way that makes sense to them!

I make learning fun and enjoyable, while also ensuring each student’s lessons are structured for their specific learning needs and styles!
My typical lesson plan includes A warm-up to review previous knowledge. This helps students build their confidence as well as prepare their minds for learning! Following this, I will ask if there’s any schoolwork or classwork specifically that they don’t understand if so, we can work on that, but if not, I’ll move into reteaching the information that they struggle with or need some more assistance with. To wrap up I always perform some sort of exit ticket to ensure that learning occurred.
