About Quinn
I have over 7 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance with a focus on Baroque violin. I enjoy working with young children and helping them discover music in a fun way. I believe learning should feel like play, not pressure.
In my classes, I use storytelling to explain musical ideas in a simple way. For example, I describe a melody like a story with a beginning and ending. This helps children connect with music naturally.
I include rhythm games where students clap, walk, and move to understand timing. These activities make learning active and engaging. I also use simple melodies so they can focus on sound and listening.
My teaching is inspired by Suzuki and Kodaly methods, which focus on ear training from a young age. I encourage children to listen, repeat, and feel the music before reading notes. This builds strong aural skills step by step.
I have seen students quickly improve when they learn through movement and listening. One young student started recognizing tunes just by hearing them after a few weeks. These small wins build confidence.
I always aim to make violin learning fun, imaginative, and full of joy. I want every child to feel excited when they pick up the violin. Together, we build not just skill but a love for music.

My teaching focuses on building a strong foundation in violin through simple and clear steps. I help students understand how to hold the bow, control movement, and create a smooth sound. I include bowing techniques like detache, spiccato, and legato from early stages.
I guide students to develop a rich tone by listening carefully and adjusting pressure and speed. I also teach dynamic control so they can play both soft and strong with confidence. In one class, a beginner improved tone just by learning how to relax the bow hand.
I support learners who enjoy singing casually or in groups by connecting voice and violin expression. I give special exercises to improve bow arm control and coordination. These include slow bow drills and rhythm patterns that are easy to follow.
Students practice small musical phrases daily to improve control and sound quality. I also use simple pieces to teach expression without stress. Over time, they start producing clean and beautiful violin sounds with confidence.
