About Elizabeth

As a teacher and student, I completely understand the want to have a qualified, experienced coach. As a vocal coach, I have taught over 40 students over the past 4 years, many of whom got into theater and fostered a deeper love with music through our lessons. As for my training, I am a current sophomore at NYU Tisch’s New Studio on Broadway, which is the only musical theater studio at Tisch. I also previously attended and graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts as a theater major. I have also coached many students through the BFA audition process, many of whom are now at top programs.

About the lesson

As a vocal and acting coach, I always structure my lessons around the needs and wants of my students- lessons can include anything ranging from learning how to belt to acting a Shakespeare monologue!

My typical lesson includes a 10-15 minute warm up tailored to the students individual vocal needs, then we move to our lesson “flex” time! This time is completely up to the student and what they want to learn and gain from our lessons. I’ve had students bring in audition material, monologues/scenes, and music ranging from broadway classics to pop songs. If wanted, I also have tailored lessons for young singers with a main "goal" in mind (this came from a young girl who when asked what she wanted to sing she replied "I want to sing like broadway"). In these lessons, I put them on a path towards success by assigning material that will foster the skills needed to achieve their goal.

I teach a range of ages/skill levels, but I specifically work most with children aged 5-14 developing the crucial skills needed for any early singer. I really believe that the best way to develop a true love of music and singing is by letting the singer learn through music they already love- I find (especially with younger singers) this approach fosters a wonderful relationship with their work, as well as provide a vehicle to learn and apply new skills. Overall, my main goal with any lesson isn’t getting a song to be “perfect”, but to prioritize growth and developing healthy vocal technique that translates to any genre of music.
