About Ruth
Struggling to reach those high notes can be frustrating. Personalized song list built around each student's range is the anchor of my teaching.
We start by fixing breathing control to set a solid foundation for your chest voice. Head voice transitions and pitch control follow shortly after as we refine your tone and resonance.
My lessons are structured to ensure you understand the mechanics behind your voice without feeling overwhelmed. It is always rewarding to watch a student master a difficult phrase. Making music should always be a joyful process for everyone involved.

Teaching singing is a blend of science and art. 13 years of experience have shaped my style.
Hobbyists and grade exam candidates often find my neurodivergent-affirming space very welcoming. My own journey as a musician at UBC informs how I help intermediate learners and returning players alike. 122 students have passed through my studio. Hearing someone find their unique sound is truly enjoyable.
