About Jack
Hi, I'm Jack, an Economics and French joint degree student at Warwick University, currently on track for a First. My love for teaching stems from teaching mathematics to classes of up to 50 students in South Africa, where I saw first hand the impact of a good teacher.
My French has been sharpened through university-level grammar, translation, and literature study, alongside genuine enthusiasm for the language and Francophone culture.
Outside of my degree, I play football for my university league team, tennis with the university club, and wrestle competitively. I am also learning to speak Arabic and spend my spare time producing house music.
I tutor because I know first-hand how daunting a language can feel before it clicks, and I enjoy helping students get there. I bring the same discipline I apply to competitive sport and language learning into my tutoring: patience, structure, and genuine investment in seeing students improve.

I'm an Economics and French joint degree student at Warwick University, currently on track for a First, with strong written and spoken French developed through university-level study, grammar, translation, and literature modules.
My approach focuses on building genuine fluency and confidence rather than rote memorisation: I work through grammar systematically, use translation exercises to sharpen precision, and incorporate conversation practice so students can actually use what they learn. For exam-focused students, I tailor sessions around GCSE and A-level specifications, with plenty of past-paper technique and structured essay/translation practice.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes and are adjusted to each student's level and goals, whether that's exam preparation, building conversational confidence, or strengthening grammar fundamentals. I tutor students from GCSE through to A-level, including those preparing for mock exams or working to lift a specific grade boundary.
