About Syafiah Nur Hanisah

I love Primary school Math and have been tutoring it for 3 years. I am currently in a local University and have been actively taking on leadership roles in my extracurricular since primary school. With my vast experience in volunteering, networking and the performing arts, I always adopt a more realistic and creative approach into my teaching, creating my own structure in learning.

The examination provides us with a guideline. My job is to teach the child to think creatively so that they are able to visualize how the problem appears in real life. With that understanding can they use Math as a tool to solve the problem by finding the unsolved through application of theories.

About the lesson

There are 3 main areas to solving Math:
1. theory - topics, chapters, concepts
2. skill - solving a question
3. presentation - showing your working, answering the question

For every topic, there are always key concepts that can be condensed further than seen in textbooks. More importantly, the question requirement can always be identified from visualising the scenario given by the question before using Math to solve for the areas the question did not tell you about. Unpacking the question and presenting the student's thought process is a skill I focus on during tuition.
