About Vanessa

I have been marking and assessing assignments and essays in the Field of Development Studies and social sciences for 11 years. This includes examination assessment. Proofreading I have been doing for many years; in various fields. Mostly social sciences; though.

About the lesson

I am based in South Africa; where we use UK spelling. However, if you prefer US spelling, that is fine too.

Essay or assignment writing:

My focus is usually understanding and analysing the question or topic first. This way the structure and content of your essay becomes so much easier.

For me to assist you I will always need to know the full question or topic; all tutorial letters provided, all prescribed material (if any) and the technical requirements of your institution or department. This implies; referencing techniques, structure of the essay or assignment and more.

Proofreading:

The same applies to proofreading of documents. It is very important that all technical requirements are complied to. I will of course be looking carefully at grammar, spelling and content. Also structure and technical requirements.

Examination preparation:

Here you will have to provide me with all details of what your examination requirements might be (if provided). I am happy to assist you in any way I can to prepare.

Bear in mind that examinations can be stressful. The most important aspect is always to start preparing in good time. Also, see that you partake in all classes and tutorials provided, complete and submit as may assignments as you can, read all feedback provided from your lecturer.

Read all of your tutorial letters provided; read all prescribed material. This is how you become confident in your field of study. An examination should not be stressful if you are well prepared.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

As for CVs; that depends entirely on what your needs are. You will have to provide details of what you require.

I am happy to assist with application cover letters; but I will need to see which vacancy you are applying for and your CV.

I have endless patience; so feel free to practise with me and achieve perfection. Ask as many questions as you need. This is how you learn.
