About Liya
I am a patient and loving individual who is determined to cherish your flaws & guide you to grow into a respected person of society. I am resilient and will not give up on you no matter what the weaknesses are. As a 6 year tutor at a private tuition centre, I believe I am qualified to teach at a GCSE, KS3 and KS2 academic level. It is my job to assess your progress, explain topics you find difficult in school, provide you with extra worksheets on topics in your specification and assist with school homework. Tests will be given to monitor your progress and weekly comments as well as parent reports every two months will be updated. I will work very hard as a tutor to ensure your success and progress.

Firstly, I give a general assessment to predict the target they’re currently working at. My assessment for maths specifically contains the prevalent topics in many GCSE & SATS exams. I then identify their weaknesses & strengths from their assessment. I use printed photocopies of topics in corbett maths as well as the markschemes so I can mark it and correct it. I make sure to write written examples of the topics that I’m explaining to the students verbally before they attempt the worksheets.I ensure that I go through the corrections with them. After a certain topic, I will give them a mini test and grade it - capping 40/50 (80%) as a pass. If they achieve below that, I allow chances given at 35/50. Anything further below, I ensure they re-do the worksheets and then attempt the test again making it 45/50 (90%) the pass mark. A third attempt is 47.5/50 (95%) the pass mark. Anything below a third attempt will mean an automatic fail of the topic & hence they’re highlighted as major concerning students. I will create a spreadsheet on Excel updating every students test results as well as names of topics & write weekly comments of their behaviour, work pace, whether h/w is done or not & their punctuality as well as their understanding on Excel . I will conduct meetings with their parents every two months & update those parent reports on Excel too. They will get 3-4 pages of homework & extra if their parents request it.
I understand this is quite long to read but thank you for taking the time to consider my application.
