About Marshall
Music begins when you stop thinking about your fingers and start hearing the rhythm in your mind. Before we play a single note, we conduct a diagnostic skills check to build the lesson plan. This simple step helps us focus on your needs as a hobbyist or a grade exam candidate. We cover tuning and maintenance along with electric technique.
Strumming patterns are the backbone of everything we play. We explore improvisation and soloing through the lens of Latin traditions. Acoustic technique needs to be precise. Are you ready to see where your own hands can take your playing?

Technical mastery requires a steady hand and a deep connection to the history of the instrument. I began my journey immersed in the rhythmic complexity of Latin pop and flamenco.
My BA in Music from Berklee gave me the academic tools to map these traditions. Teaching for 15 years has shown me that technique is just a way to express a story.
I have taught 378 students across many genres and levels. My lessons often include small asides about the history of the guitar or the life of a song. I enjoy sitting with a student and finding the right strumming pattern for a melody. It feels good to see a student connect with the music.
