About Melissa
My name is Melissa. I double major at ULL. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education 1-8 and math in 2004. I then graduated with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I later went back and obtained a degree in Interior Design. I am a life long learner and believe that we are all constantly learning, whether in the classroom, world or from those we interact with in one way or another. I am a person who thinks analytically (math/science) and creative (fine and visual arts).
I enjoy dancing. I have danced since I was three, attend The School of Arts in New Orleans and was a part of a Dance Company. I traveled and performed professionally and competitively. I still dance, but is now for fun and myself.
I love animals and nature. I enjoy being outside.
I am a very outgoing person that gets excited about incorporating my experiences and how I am able to use math and science in the the things I enjoy.

Learning should be fun. I teach using real world experience through a hands on approach. Rather than sitting and working through problem sets, my students get an opportunity to apply the knowledge being taught or practiced. Students will not only practice with paper and pencil but also through activities.
