About Nancy
Teaching guitar actually happened because open mic regulars kept asking how I did what I did. It is strange to realize that being a working musician for 6 years leads directly to this spot. I spent those years playing acoustic sets in small venues across the American South and Southwest. My 13 years of total experience shaped how I explain the protest song tradition from Dylan to Guthrie.
I currently work with teens, hobbyists, adults, and working professionals who want to play the right way. Having 372 students means I have seen every common roadblock when it comes to learning the instrument. My approach is pretty chill because I know exactly how much pressure is required to get a clean sound. Most of the time, the best way to handle a student is to keep the vibe relaxed and the focus on the music itself.
