About Joe

My primary goal is to make each session both educational and fun. I understand that kids (and even adults!) can sometimes lose interest, so I blend traditional chess theory with creative exercises and exciting chess variations to keep every lesson fresh and engaging.
Fast communication: I’m always quick to respond and will happily answer your questions even outside of class.
Flexible and tailored lessons: Whether you’re a parent looking for a fun and educational activity for your child or an experienced player wanting to elevate your game, I adapt my approach to meet your needs.
Passion for teaching: I love what I do and find joy in helping students grow their skills and confidence on the chessboard.

Personalized Approach: I tailor lessons to fit each student's needs, whether they are beginners or more advanced players. I’ve successfully connected with both younger students, and adult learners, offering customized strategies for each.

Interactive and Fun: I make learning enjoyable by keeping students engaged. My ability to make students feel a sense of achievement, like with the 5-year-old boy/girl, helps build their confidence.

Clear and Methodical Teaching: My students appreciate how easy it is to understand my lessons. I simplify complex chess strategies, which makes learning less intimidating.

Building Enthusiasm: My students' excitement about chess often grows because i introduce them to new ideas and approaches.

Positive Feedback: Parents and students often mention how capable and fun i am as a coach, which contributes to building my reputation.

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I started playing chess when I was just four years old. My passion for the game developed naturally as I became fascinated by the endless possibilities on the board. Chess quickly became more than just a game for me-it was a way to challenge myself, think strategically, and constantly improve.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

In the world of chess, Bobby Fischer has had the biggest influence on me. His deep understanding of the game, fearless approach, and incredible fighting spirit have always been an inspiration. Fischer's games taught me the importance of creativity, precision, and resilience in chess.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

To succeed in chess, you need a combination of hard work, discipline, and a willingness to learn. Dedication is key-you must constantly challenge yourself, analyze games, and refine your strategies. A strong ability to focus and adapt is also essential, as every game presents new challenges. I always encourage my students to follow my guidance closely, as structured learning accelerates their improvement.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Consistency is the key to progress. Set small, achievable goals, and track your improvement over time. Stay curious and always seek new challenges to keep things engaging. In chess, I encourage my students to review their games, learn from their mistakes, and never stop exploring new ideas on the board.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

Chess is more than just a hobby for me-it's a lifelong passion that brings excitement and fulfillment. The beauty of chess lies in its depth and complexity, and every game feels like a new puzzle to solve. Teaching chess gives me great joy, as I get to share this passion with my students and watch them grow.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

One of my proudest moments as a tutor is seeing my students achieve success in tournaments or make significant breakthroughs in their understanding of the game. Watching their confidence grow and knowing that I played a role in their improvement is incredibly rewarding.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Absolutely! I've had several students who have amazed me with their rapid progress. Some young students, in particular, have shown an extraordinary ability to grasp advanced concepts quickly. It's always exciting to see their potential unfold.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret is a personalized and engaging approach to teaching. I adapt my lessons to fit each student's strengths and weaknesses, making learning both fun and effective. I also emphasize the importance of critical thinking, patience, and perseverance-skills that are valuable both on and off the chessboard.
