About Raymond
Strumming patterns, songwriting, rhythm guitar, reading sheet music, electric technique, ear training, and maintenance are the tools you will gain here. You might be a teen, an absolute beginner, or someone returning to the instrument after a long break.
My 13 years of experience comes from playing in 5 bands, releasing 6 records, and touring the East Coast. Real playing situations and real tone problems define the way I show up for all 300 students I have coached.
Songwriting shortcuts gathered from my own work in the industry are woven into how I explain complex ideas. The first session starts with us picking a song you love and stripping it down to its core components. Every single concept I teach is tied directly to a riff or chord progression you already know by heart. Your favorite tracks are turned into simplified arrangements that ensure you feel a sense of progress from the very start. Reading sheet music becomes intuitive when it is applied to music you actually listen to on your phone.
We focus on electric technique and proper tuning maintenance to make sure your gear sounds exactly like the records you admire. My approach prioritizes the groove and the feel of the instrument over textbook exercises that never seem to apply to real life.
Teaching you how to hear the music is just as important as showing you where to place your fingers on the neck. Those 13 years on the road have taught me that music is about connection, not just mechanics. Let us get your guitar plugged in and start making some noise together.
