About Charles
Beginners often feel overwhelmed when starting their musical journey, so I aim to make the piano approachable for students of all ages. Having graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music with an Artist Diploma, I spent 13 years performing on stage and in the studio. Now, I focus on music theory, sight playing, rhythm and timing, dynamics and expression, and ear training to build a solid foundation.

Do you find it difficult to keep a steady beat while reading complex scores for the first time? Tracking your progress through a monthly report helps ensure we address those rhythm and timing issues early on.
I draw upon 13 years of studio performance to explain dynamics and expression in ways that actually make sense to the ear. By breaking down technical hurdles, we can turn a challenging piece into something truly enjoyable to practice. My goal is to keep sessions practical so that the growth is audible within the music you create.
