About Bruno

Hey there! I'm Bruno, from São Paulo, born and raised! I'm genuinely passionate about teaching Portuguese. I've spent the last 7 years doing it both online and in person, and I honestly love every bit of it. I'm fascinated by the Portuguese language all its twists, turns, and little nuances and I think that's what makes it so interesting to teach.

For me, it's always a joy to share that knowledge and help someone else discover the language. I'm constantly trying out different teaching approaches to make the learning process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. No boring drills here! I like to keep things engaging and practical.

About the lesson

I’ve been teaching Portuguese for about 7 years now, both online and in person. I’ve worked with all kinds of students, people just visiting Brazil for vacation, others moving there for good, American kids with Brazilian grandparents who wanted to keep up the language, and even Americans who married into Brazilian families. In every case, I’ve mixed traditional grammar with real conversation. Both formal and casual because I think that’s what really makes the language stick.

Once I get to know you and understand what you’re looking for, I adjust my approach to what feels most comfortable and effective for you. I don’t have a one-size-fits-all method! I go with what works best for each student, and I love tackling the questions that come up naturally as we go.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to an American for 17 years, and we have a 15-year-old son. We’ve been living in the U.S. for about 9 years now, and honestly, my son keeps me on my toes! He challenges me every day to keep his Brazilian Portuguese sharp, which pushes me to constantly find new, fun ways to teach without making it feel like a chore.

I’m a Brazilian who truly loves the Portuguese language, and nothing makes me happier than sharing our culture and our beautifully rich grammar with others.
