About Daniel
I've taught piano and drum lessons occasionally for about 10 years, and began to spend more time teaching in the Fall of 2016. Overall, I've taught my unique improvisation course to over 50 people. They've usually been surprised that they can actually improvise in all 12 keys with confidence and ease in such a short time.

I began piano lessons at the age of 4 and had a total of 9 years of lessons by the time I graduated from high school. This training was all in classical music theory and performance, and I had a strong aptitude and facility.
In my 40s (after careers in fields unrelated to music) I turned my career attention to music and jazz studies. I have been playing in various settings professionally since 2001.
I love improvisational expression and have created a one-of-a-kind method to teach people how to improvise on the piano in all 12 keys with NO theory, NO scale or chord memorization, and NO note names!
This method is an excellent way to get started on the piano OR if you have years of experience playing from the written page, but find it hard to create your own fresh music spontaneously (in any key).
I am also intimately familiar with and can teach standard music theory and jazz theory.

I enjoy teaching via webcam (once we get the camera angle set!), but if it's close enough, I'm willing to travel to your site for the extra $10 fee.
