About Amie

I have been teaching and tutoring for four years and have been qualified as a teacher of English as a foreign language for almost a year. I have taught a range of classes, both small and large, from four-year-olds to adults. I have also prepared students from all over the world in one to one lessons for exams, work and other purposes.

I have taught for tutoring companies, schools and independently, both abroad and in England, which has trained me to adjust my teaching methods to suit the learning style of each Individual student. I have taught a wide range of people, all with different backgrounds and educational needs, which I have always been happy to provide additional support for.

I always aim to build a good and professional rapport with my students and to make each lesson vibrant and engaging because I believe that a positive atmosphere not only motivates but can also enhance learning.

I have tutored students for exams and have taught additional exam techniques, which I believe has helped them gain specific knowledge and improve their grades. I have helped students acquire sufficient proficiency of English for work, to enrol at British universities or just for personal enrichment. I have taught asylum seekers and refugees, which I found extremely rewarding. This is one of the reasons why teaching English as a second language will always be my biggest passion in life.

About the lesson

I utilise multiple methods of teaching to accommodate each individual student, since I believe that everybody is unique and requires different strategies and techniques to get the most out of my lessons.

I always strive to have a positive approach, as this makes lessons more interesting and engaging. I also try to involve students as much as possible and avoid lecture-style teaching, unless, of course, this is what my student has requested.

I am supportive and understanding of any difficulties that students may have in regard to the lesson and will try my utmost to ensure that we work through any issues to create an optimal learning environment.

My consistent teaching style is thought-provoking, engaging and friendly and I always treat my students with professionalism and respect. I most prefer a modern approach to learning and aim to make the lesson as relaxed as possible. This creates an immersive environment during the lesson, which is the most conducive to learning.
