About Yash

Hi, I’m Yash, a specialist Math tutor based in Rouse Hill, focusing on teaching Years 7–12. I graduated from Normanhurst Boys High School in 2025, ranking 10/110 in Extension 1 Math with a trial mark of 95/100 and a predicted ATAR of 99.3 (official ATAR release 18th Dec ).

I have over 2 yrs of experience conducting private/group sessions for both primary and high school students, helping them with assessment tasks, selective school entry, OC exams, and HSC preparation.

Having transferred into the selective system myself in Year 9, I understand the challenges students face when learning a subject like math, where concepts build quickly and small gaps can cause compounding stress on students. To solve this, I focus on providing a clear framework to strengthen understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and maximise marks.

My lessons emphasise building confidence, mastering concepts, and developing structured approaches to every type of problem, with a personalised plan for each student so they can achieve their best results without feeling overwhelmed.

About the lesson

Lessons typically run for 60–90 minutes, tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I focus on helping students understand concepts deeply, build problem-solving skills, and approach assessments with confidence.

1. General Math Studies (Years 7–10)

- Strengthening understanding of core concepts and foundations
- Developing problem-solving strategies for different question types
- Building confidence in algebra, geometry, number skills, and data
interpretation
- Learning step-by-step methods to approach challenging problems
- Developing logical thinking and accuracy in calculations

2. HSC Preparation (Years 11–12)

- Working through concepts and topics according to the course-specific
scope and sequence.
- Providing exam-ready questions from a personal bank of revision
questions compiled over my years of schooling.
- Practising timed HSC past papers to improve speed and accuracy
under exam conditions.
- Sharing preparation and examination tips that personally helped me
manage 4 units of Math alongside other subjects

3. Assessment Task Support (All Years)

- Going through revision questions for the topics specified in the exam
notification.
- Completing past papers under timed conditions.
- Identifying areas of weakness and working on them.
- Tracking improvement and providing targeted guidance.
- Sharing general tips and strategies to maximise marks
