About Abi
My name is Abi, I’m 19 years old and I’m in my second year of studying Sociology with Social Policy at the University of Sheffield. I love to teach because I remember the insane pressure I was placed under (and repeatedly placed myself under) during high school exams and want to help students get the best out of their learning experience that they can. I believe the skills they learn in high school don’t only benefit them during exams, but provide vital life lessons in endurance and confidence that they can hold for the rest of their lives. High school is a vital time in their development that I believe should be used to help them nurture their character rather than break them down with pressure.

- Personable approach- tutoring with acknowledgement of students’ other commitments outside of tutored subject. -Past-student - as a former English student who finished their A-levels only in 2022, I am able to relate to the pressure placed on students by exam boards and the width and depth of content they are required to learn. - Experience- despite being just 20 years old, I have experience tutoring GCSE students with Action Tutoring and was awarded the nationwide Volunteer Award by the organisation in July 2023 amongst many other nominees -I make an effort to make learning English a rewarding, interactive and fun experience to relieve students of the pressure they are constantly under :)
