About Dr Alexander

As a lecturer and tutor with a robust academic background, I bring a wealth of experience to my teaching. I hold an undergraduate degree in Human Geography with Politics, a master's in International Development, and a PhD in Geography. This diverse educational journey provides me with a deep, interdisciplinary understanding. For five and a half years, I worked as a university lecturer in Human Geography, where I honed my ability to teach complex concepts and support students in their academic growth. My experience extends beyond the university lecture hall; I am also a seasoned private tutor, having successfully guided students at GCSE, A-level, and university levels. My tutoring practice focuses on providing tailored, one-on-one support that addresses individual learning needs and helps students build the skills they need to excel.

Are you staring at a blank page, overwhelmed by your literature review, or constantly getting feedback that your essays "lack critical analysis"? I can help.

As a former University Lecturer with a PhD in the Social Sciences, I specialize in rescuing essays and dissertations. Because I have spent years grading undergraduate and postgraduate papers, I know exactly what examiners are looking for, where students usually lose marks, and how to push your work into the higher grade boundaries.

I offer 1-on-1, highly targeted coaching for university students. My main areas of support include:

Structure & Flow: Helping you organize messy notes into a logical, persuasive academic argument.

Dissertation Rescue: Step-by-step guidance from refining your research question to structuring your methodology and conclusion.

Critical Analysis Coaching: Teaching you how to move past simply "describing" theories and start critically analyzing them.

High-Level Proofreading: Polishing your final drafts for flawless grammar, elevated academic tone, and perfect referencing (APA, Harvard, etc.).

My goal is to make you a confident, independent academic writer. I provide a calm, non-judgmental space to ask the questions you might be too nervous to ask your supervisor!

(Strict Professional Boundary: I operate entirely within university academic integrity guidelines. I provide coaching and editing, but I do NOT write essays from scratch or participate in ghostwriting).
