About Marriyam

Hi, I'm Marriyam — an ACCA and CA Finalist with over 3 years of professional experience in internal audit, external audit, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis, gained through KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co. (Big Four) and my current role as Senior Associate – Audit & Compliance at Allied Bank Limited.

I have worked on statutory audits under IFRS and ISA, and currently handle internal audits, regulatory compliance, risk controls, and financial reporting within a major banking environment. Alongside accounting and audit, I have developed practical skills in Excel-based financial reporting, financial analysis, and financial modeling, helping businesses understand their performance through structured data and clear insights.

My teaching approach focuses on connecting accounting concepts with real-world applications. I don't just explain textbook theory — I use practical examples from audit, banking, financial reporting, and finance projects to help students understand how concepts are applied professionally.

I work with ACCA and accounting students internationally, including learners from the UK, UAE, and Europe, and I am comfortable adapting my schedule to different time zones to make lessons convenient for students.

My teaching focuses on:

About the lesson

My lessons are structured around your specific paper, exam date, and current weak areas — not a generic run-through of the syllabus. I teach students at all levels, from those just starting ACCA/CA to those preparing for final professional papers.
Lesson structure:
Each session typically includes a brief review of what you covered last time, focused teaching on the topic or concept you're struggling with, worked examples using real audit/financial reporting cases from my professional experience, and past paper or exam-style questions to apply what we've covered.
Format:
Lessons are conducted online via video call with a shared digital whiteboard/screen-share, so we can work through journal entries, financial statements, and calculations together in real time. I also share notes, practice questions, and past papers after each session so you have material to revise independently.
Who I teach:

Beginners needing concepts explained from scratch, in simple language
Intermediate students who understand the basics but need help applying them under exam conditions
Advanced/final-level students who need technical depth, examiner-style answer structuring, and time-pressured practice

Pacing:
I adjust the pace to you — if you're preparing for an upcoming exam, we'll move quickly through high-yield areas and past papers; if you're building foundational understanding, we'll go step by step and won't move on until a concept is clear.
