About Sofia

Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I have been a LMT for 20 years with over 100 hours in continuing education. My modalities are Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, trigger point, hot stone and cupping. The goal is to pass on everything I know to people who are intent on being educated in this profession. About the lesson

If you are brand new to massage therapy, you will learn everything from fundamentals and technique to physiology and business; this field requires knowledge from many areas. You will learn beyond the basics, the ins and outs of what it's really like once you're licensed. If you have some experience, the lessons will be based on your personal goals. The first free session will be an introduction, establishment of goals and schedule along with any questions and expectations you may have and only done online. I will work at a speed that is comfortable for you and will provide reading materials and homework. What you will be responsible for obtaining massage oil, table and person to practice on. You can buy a table for about $100 on Amazon, or used from someone. Sweet almond, grapeseed or coconut oil can be used or any massage lotion of your choosing. You will need to cover your table with twin sheets, so make sure you are ok with them being stained. The person you will use to practice on should feel comfortable with you and know this will be for practice and learning purposes only. More details will be explained during the first lesson.
