About Frances
I am a highly energetic individual who desires to teach. I have a Master’s in Education with a focus in ESL; I also have a Master’s of Fine Arts with a focus in Drama. I have over ten years of experience teaching within higher education institutions and over 25 years of experience within the field of dramatic arts. My approach to teaching ESL or Drama is student centered - that means my focus is on you and what you may need as an individual. I can help you with basic reading/writing/listening & speakings skills which include pronunciation; I can also help you to develop strategies and formulas to writing sophisticated expository essays; in addition, I can help you with Business English, public speaking, dramatic presentations, and scene study. I teach to the needs of students within Higher Education. On the academic level, I have taught contextualized based ESL classes focusing on Reading and Writing but through subject content (science, US History, Fine Arts, etc.) to multiple levels . I also teach Listening and Speaking and utilize DRAMA as a way to approach foreign language acquisition. I am student centered, energetic, and efficient with my teaching style. I have worked with international graduate and college level students, immigrants and the undocumented who are interested in obtaining a GED or are just wanting to improve their English skills. The last ten years of my teaching have been through university institutions utilizing Canvas, a popular Learning Management System.
