About Yana
I am a MSc student at the University of Glasgow studying Applied Maths. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University where during my undergraduate career I worked as a course assistant in the maths department. I have also worked as a teacher at Harvard, where I led my own class of 20 students and got to spread my love of maths to other people. I spend a lot of time working with maths and hope to make it more fun for you, or at least help you tolerate it.

After teaching Calculus at Harvard last year, I’ve developed a teaching philosophy centred on understanding rather than simply completing problems. During our sessions, we’ll focus on working through examples carefully and exploring the “why” behind each technique, not just the final answer.
I’ve also tutored Algebra and Geometry for students of various ages and backgrounds. My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and designed for students aged 14 and up, though feel free to reach out no matter your age.
