About Gina Marie
I’ve been published in multiple literary journals, won countless awards, was always an extremely driven and successful student (with a near-perfect GPA in college and was in the top 5% in high school). I have a bachelor’s in creative writing and visual art from one of the top all-honors universities in the country and have an IB diploma.
My undergraduate thesis was just one of ten in my year to receive an “Outstanding Thesis” award. I’ve always been a friendly face, and because of my writing skill, was nominated by my professors and chosen by my peers as the student speaker for my graduation. I’ve been working in the literary field for over two years, but have been traditionally and self-published (and constantly publishing) for over ten years!

[WHAT I TEACH]
I HAVE two different tutoring tracks: Academic English and Creative Writing (for prose—flash fiction, short stories, novellas, and/or novels.)
Either path (academic or creative writing) can be for any age of schooling: elementary, middle, high school, or/and undergraduate-level.
ACADEMIC ENGLISH: I can do ACT test prep (and received a 35 in grammar and a 34 in reading for high school). I can work on reading comprehension, essays, literary analysis, and/or grammar in any level of schooling.
CREATIVE WRITING: If you’re interested in honing your creative writing craft from an industry insider, you can be any age and any skill level! I’ve been working on the slush pile for one of the fastest-growing literary magazines in the US for over two years, and worked on my university’s literary magazine.
Regardless of what you’re looking for, I work virtually via Zoom or Skype.
[LESSON PLANS]
The first free lesson will begin as a way for us to know each other! I want us to see if I am what you’re looking for. The first lesson will outline your goals, may include assessments (if necessary), and will help me see what research I need to do to best help you! I’ll create a lesson plan to help reach your goals. I’m a solution-driven worker!
[MY STYLE]
While I’m semi-new to virtual and official tutoring, I'm a very casual and friendly face who has years of experience. I strongly believe in collaboration and encouragement, and am gentle and reassuring.
I’m not just here to help your grades—I’m here to make you a stronger reader, writer, and communicator. Communication is a key skill to have in every aspect of your life (jobs, relationships, etc.). Above all else, I’m here to boost your confidence. :D
Note: I will not write your essays or short stories for you in an academic setting. Academic honesty is important. (But if you are interested in ghostwriting for fiction work, contact me! If you would like essay help, I can give guidance on how to create stronger, more compelling essays.
