About Matheus
I am a second-year medical student with a particular interest in paediatrics. During my gap year, I had the opportunity to work closely with young people, an experience that introduced me to my passion for supporting and mentoring students. Through tutoring, I hope to continue working with young people in an area where I have both strong academic knowledge and personal experience.
My own academic journey was not always straightforward, which has given me a strong appreciation for the challenges that students can face. As a result, I am passionate about helping students navigate their studies with greater confidence and providing the guidance and support that I would have found valuable myself.
Studying medicine has required me to develop efficient and effective learning strategies, enabling me to manage a demanding workload while maintaining a healthy balance between my academic commitments and personal interests. I want to share these study techniques with students, helping them to build habits that support both academic success and especially their long-term wellbeing.
Outside of my studies, I have a strong interest in the arts. I enjoy creative writing and regularly write poetry, as well as playing music and singing. I believe these interests help me bring creativity and enthusiasm to my teaching, allowing me to create engaging lessons that are tailored to students' individual needs.

I aim to create personalised and interactive lessons that foster a supportive learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring ideas, and learning from their mistakes.
Alongside subject knowledge, I encourage students to develop effective and sustainable study and revision strategies that support both academic success and a healthy balance between their studies and personal lives.
I also strive to be a valuable resource for my students, working collaboratively with them to create tailored revision materials, including flashcards, and providing a wide range of exam-style questions to build confidence, strengthen understanding, and develop exam technique.
