About Sophie

As a Belgian-American, I have previous experience tutoring beginner French, and I am currently pursuing a French and Spanish major with a Portuguese certificate here at Arizona State University. I have received French schooling up until 8th grade and understand both academic systems. In the future I would like to be a teacher as it is a big passion of mine. I enjoy helping students grow especially in foreign languages which is a passion of mine.

About the lesson

I am a strong believer that a solid verbal communication base is essential for language learning and growth. I like to be engaged with my student and enjoy when they ask questions, I am always willing to address any minute concerns they may have. Typical lesson plan will be straightforward and tailored to specific topics of interest. I am quite flexible and am willing to help students with any specific concern they have. As a Belgian-American I am able to understand both cultures and connect the French and English language similarities. I have attended both American and French school systems so I am familiar with both language learning techniques. Lessons are aimed at lower division high school and college level French classes.
