About Dominic
I started studying music in the fourth grade when I played clarinet in the school band. A couple of years later, I began teaching myself to play guitar and developed my musical identity. I learned songs by Nirvana, The Beatles, Weezer, and Hendrix. Throughout high school, I played in school shows as well as various bands before going on to study music theory, composition, songwriting, and private studio teaching at Salisbury University and Berklee College of Music. For several years, I played, wrote, and recorded with a touring band called Deleted Scenes.
I started teaching guitar in high school, and I've had up to 26 students at one time of all ages. Since then, I have continued teaching in various ways as I love to help people flourish and encourage the progression of their studies.

When it comes to teaching, I place importance on the fundamentals of playing and writing while encouraging each student's personal musical interests. Learning to read and write music with an understanding of theory are important skills to gain when studying an instrument. However, I'm only willing to go as deep with them so far as each student's interest allows. After developing a foundation, I show my students how to push beyond the traditional rules of theory, writing, and playing through experimentation.
