About Grace
My name is Grace Warner and I am a senior at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. I am a Biology major and I also play Varsity lacrosse for Pomona-Pitzer. I have worked as an Assistant Teacher with KinderCare, as well as a Tutor with Children Youth and Family Collaborative. Outside of these jobs I also volunteered as a tutor and coach with Portland Tennis and Education and coached 4th through 10th graders in lacrosse with 3D Oregon and Oregon Pride. In the last year, I have worked as a Chiropractic Assistant and Pre-Med Intern.

As a teacher and coach my goal is to foster a supportive and accommodating environment in which the needs of each student can be met. I encourage students to be confident in themselves and their abilities because I believe confidence is critical for growth and success. I have learning disabilities and I understand that students learn in different ways, so I aim to accommodate each student's individual needs. I begin lessons by getting to know the student and gaining an understanding of the areas or skills they wish to improve. Depending on the student, I ask if they need help with homework or offer practice questions and/or activities that we could work through. Throughout the lesson, I also assess their progress so that I can keep track of their progress and determine what areas/skills will require extra practice or explaining. My lessons are for students from elementary to high school, although my strongest subjects are Writing, Algebra, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology. I can also coach lacrosse, soccer, and basketball, as well as strength and conditioning.
