About Emily

Hi! I'm Emily, a friendly and patient tutor with a strong academic background in both science and the humanities. I hold a BA and MA in Literature and am currently completing science coursework as a pre-med student, so I understand both the analytical and creative sides of learning.

I specialize in helping students feel comfortable with challenging material and building confidence step by step. Many students come to me feeling overwhelmed by subjects like biology or chemistry, and we work together to break complex ideas into manageable pieces that make sense.

Subjects I tutor include:

• Biology (high school and introductory college)
• General Chemistry
• English writing and essays
• Reading comprehension
• Study skills and organization
• ESL conversation practice

Because I am currently studying science myself, I am very familiar with the common areas where students struggle and how to explain concepts clearly. I focus on helping students truly understand the material rather than just memorize it, which leads to stronger long-term results and improved performance on exams.

My tutoring style is:

• patient and encouraging
• structured but flexible
• focused on clarity and understanding
• supportive of different learning styles

I am happy to help with homework, exam preparation, concept review, or ongoing academic support. If you're feeling stuck, behind, or unsure where to begin, I will meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence.
