About Leonardo

Hi, I’m Leonardo! I study Economics and Management at Bocconi University in Milan, having completed the IB at JESS Dubai with 42/45 points and a 7 in Higher Level Economics.

Having recently been through the IB myself, I understand the pressure of balancing subjects, coursework and exam preparation. I want to help students feel more confident in Economics and share the understanding and exam techniques that helped me succeed.

From September 2025 to March 2026, I tutored 10 GCSE Economics students, helping them improve from grade 5 to grade 9. I also founded my school’s Economics Club, where I taught 15 students about global political developments and their economic implications. Connecting classroom theory to events happening around us is one of the things I enjoy most about the subject.

I bring that enthusiasm to my tutoring, alongside a patient and approachable attitude. You should feel comfortable saying you don’t understand something, asking another question, or trying an answer without worrying about getting it wrong. Whether you’re aiming for a top grade or need help building your foundations, I’d love to help you progress.

About the lesson

Having recently completed the IB with 42/45 points and a 7 in Higher Level Economics, I know how challenging it can be to turn your understanding of a topic into a strong exam answer. I now study Economics and Management at Bocconi University and offer online tutoring for IB Economics students at HL.

My approach focuses on making the reasoning behind economics clear. We’ll break down difficult concepts step by step, use diagrams to visualise what is happening, and connect theory to real-world examples. I’ll help you understand how to construct and explain each diagram, so you can confidently apply it to unfamiliar questions.

Alongside subject knowledge, we’ll work on exam technique: interpreting command terms, structuring essays, developing chains of analysis, and writing evaluation that goes beyond listing advantages and disadvantages. We can practise past-paper questions together and review your answers to identify specific improvements.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to your needs, whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, keeping up with classwork, or preparing for final exams. My aim is to create a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and leave each lesson with a clearer understanding of what to do next.
