About Deja

I admire hard work above all else and pride myself on having seven years of experience as an educator. I love knowing that I played a hand in the success of my former kindergarten students.

As a former kindergarten lead teacher, I led my students to achieve groundbreaking data from their 2018-2019 NWEA MAP and STEP tests:

Ninety-three percent of my former kindergarten students grew three or more STEP levels

Seventy percent of my kindergarten students grew four or more STEP levels

Eighty-one percent of my kindergarten students met or exceeded their MAP goal in math

Ninety-three percent of my kindergarten students met or exceeded their MAP goal in reading

These scores were a direct result of the many high-level practice materials that I created and utilized in my lesson plans, as well as the independent worksheets and passages that I created for students that challenged them academically and intellectually.

Additionally, all of the student data that I analyzed from their work in the classroom allowed me to create game-changing tools for their success on these assessments.

Additionally, I am a published children's book author and I love creating content that instills confidence, respect, and faith! I have two books that can be purchased on amazon, and a third book in the works!

My ultimate goal is to help you succeed and I will not be satisfied until that goal is reached! We are a TEAM! Let's get to work!

A day at work for me is not fulfilled until I know that I have creatively made a difference in my students' lives and have highly improved the performance of the workplace.

I am here to assist, motivate and build positive, meaningful relationships with people! It brings me happiness to know that I am helping others achieve something meaningful to them!

I’ve always had the natural ability to connect with children. I loved pretending to be a teacher to my stuffed animals and creating different “assignments” for them to complete. My first true experience with education was as an english tutor for my last two years of college. I enjoyed the work that I did because I knew I was supporting my college in increasing the graduation rate by assisting students with their English course work. The majority of the students I worked with finished their course one letter grade higher than they began with. I credit this to my determination and positive relationships with them. Following graduation I immediately got my first job as a charter school teacher!

I am a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's Degree in English. I also have a technical writing certification. I also bring seven years of experience as a classroom teacher!

About the lesson

Building personal relationships with students is how I like to begin my tutoring process. I need to understand the needs of my students and their learning style before beginning. Every student has different needs when it comes to how they process information. It is my job to adapt to that need and make learning as exciting and seamless as possible.

I have worked with students of all backgrounds and learning levels. I have even worked with students with special needs, including cognitive and behavioral.
