About Sheila

I have experience teaching all levels and for many different contexts: Business, Aviation, Academic, Medical and many more. I have taught Business English on-site in various industries around Oxford (BMW, Nielsen etc) as well as at a language school in Oxford. I have taught many Exam Preparation courses during my 23 years of teaching English. I have led student workshops on Chairing Meetings in English; Essay Writing; The Use of Body Language in Presentations AND for Pronunciation. I have also had the privilege of giving a talk at The Business English Trainers' Conference in London. I worked as a freelance EFL teacher for over 15 years and, for the last 5 years, as a senior EFL Teacher at a language school.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is one which will empower you to learn and use English with confidence. Your lessons will be personalised to meet your needs. If you want to enhance your Business English, I can help you to feel confident and fluent at work whether it's in public speaking, negotiations or simply writing an email quickly! For example, if you need to negotiate in English - we will look at the techniques needed for this and then learn the language that help these techniques. For instance, we might look at Open and Closed Questions. If you are an exam student, I will ensure that you get practice in exam TECHNIQUES as well as improving your English in all the skills. If you are someone who would prefer Conversation lessons, then I will use the conversation to expand your understanding of grammar and vocabulary but also ensure confident pronunciation and fluency. In all my lessons, pronunciation and error correction play a strong role as it is important that you can express yourself in English clearly and confidently.

Since I had little time left before my exam, her flexibility and short reaction time were incredibly helpful. Sheila helped me to put the finishing touches on my English before my C2 exam and I am sure that everyone, regardless of their level of English, will benefit from her lessons. She is more than worth her money because her extensive preparation and follow-up work are just impeccable! Would totally recommend her lessons to anyone!
