About Dr Howard
Cambridge Graduate | Former KCL Teaching Fellow | Expert Tutor & Academic Coach.
I am a professional private tutor and academic coach with over 12 years’ experience and a demonstrably successful record of helping students achieve their academic goals.
A former Teaching Fellow at King’s College London, I hold degrees from the universities of London, Jerusalem and Cambridge. I am also the author of Israel and the Cold War: Diplomacy, Strategy and the Policy of the Periphery at the United Nations (I.B. Tauris, 2013) and have written for academic journals and newspapers and reviewed for the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
My academic achievements include being the first recipient of the Mikardo Scholarship awarded by the British Foreign Office, receiving a Golda Meir Fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and winning a Donner Prize in Atlantic Studies at Cambridge.
I offer bespoke tuition in History, Politics, International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies, alongside Modern Hebrew, at GCSE, A Level and degree level. I also provide dissertation consultation, proofreading, essay-writing guidance and intensive exam preparation.
My approach combines academic rigour with personalised, engaging and confidence-building tuition, helping students develop stronger analytical, essay-writing and critical-thinking skills. My aim is not simply to improve grades, but to help students become more confident, independent and effective thinkers and writers.
My students have subsequently won places at, inter alia, Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, KCL, Birmingham, York, Sheffield, Nottingham and Sussex.
I hold an enhanced DBS check and subscribe to the annual update service.
