About Abhinav

Hello! My name is Abhinav and I am currently in my final year studying Maths at the University of Cambridge. I hold A*s in A-Level Maths, Further Maths & Physics.

I am someone with a passion for maths, which has been a significant part of my life so far. I have been tutoring students for 4+ years and enjoy helping students develop an understanding of maths and succeed in their exams.

About the lesson

My sessions are flexible and catered towards the student's needs. Typical sessions include:

- Going through past paper questions: Students who have a good understanding but wish to practice and find their weaknesses will find attempting past paper questions the most useful. These sessions allow us to take a look at said questions and discuss them in detail where required. Students may show me any maths papers they have completed for marking and feedback and I will monitor your working closely to identify your weaknesses before then structuring lessons to address these.

- Learning new topics: These sessions will give us time to learn and understand concepts, before applying these and practicing them with questions. I take care in making sure the student has fully grasped the ideas in order for them to be able to apply these to unseen questions.

I have extensive experience in tutoring students preparing for the 11+ exams, GCSE and A-Level students as well as those preparing for university entrance exams (STEP, MAT). I also have students who are not currently preparing for exams (e.g. in years 7, 8 and 9), but nevertheless take sessions to exercise their brains and even start looking at more advanced topics.

As well as teaching maths, I also offer 30 minute mock university maths admission interviews, which also include feedback and suggestions for improvement. As someone who has successfully passed the Cambridge Maths interview, and currently act as a Student Maths Ambassador for the university, I will be able to offer you advice and tips so that you can be confident at your own university admission interviews.
