About Charnque
Sometimes my own voice sounds thin when I have not practiced, which is why I prioritize vocal health and care above all else. I bring 13 years of experience playing bluegrass and old-time festivals across the American South to our sessions.
Working with intermediate learners and grade exam candidates requires a focus on sight singing and proper pitch control. I spent years learning through observation and listening, which helps me explain resonance to my students. My 6 years of experience have allowed me to support over 300 students in finding their head and chest voice. I find great satisfaction in hearing a student finally unlock their vibrato control.
Sharing the stories behind these traditional songs makes the work feel meaningful. It is a rare privilege to watch a working professional find balance in their vocal practice.

You receive a diagnostic vocal assessment for every new student so we can pinpoint exactly where your voice needs the most attention. I identify your current range and then we build a plan that keeps your vocal cords safe.
My approach treats every voice as a unique instrument deserving of specific care. We work on your resonance and projection through exercises that feel like singing rather than chores.
I draw on my 6 years of experience to help grade exam candidates prepare for their upcoming assessments. You will notice that small tweaks to your posture change your entire sound. I love how these traditional vocal techniques bridge the gap between technical skill and emotional expression.
We spend time on the storytelling aspect of each piece to ensure you understand the song's heart. It feels wonderful to hear a student gain confidence as their pitch control improves. I truly enjoy the process of watching you grow into your own vocal style.
