Fun, relaxed classes that aim to push students' thinking and add rigor to their work.
Each class checks in with the student initially, and aims to adjust to current needs.
Then, the class would cover- step-by-step- new material.
After that, we would examine how that new content can be applied and view examples.
The next step would give an opportunity practice that new skill/content/etc.
Finally, a review of material, exploration of related concepts, and a debrief looking to understand future goals and direction of study.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
From August 2018 through July 2019, I served as the Dean of Education in a private boarding school in Suzhou, China, where I was Matt's supervisor. Matt served as ELA and history teacher as well as Dean of Students.
During that year, I observed the following about Matt:
He was a supportive staff member who helped our small school in whatever capacity he could. He volunteered for field trips, worked after hours for evening tutorials, and always took a special interest in students and their success.
Matt also served as an academic advisor, helping students adjust to life in our institution. He was prompt with his assignments, came to work on time, and never missed work.
More importantly, he was a great team member, supporting both me and the Chinese staff. At the time, Matt was working on a Master's in Education and demonstrated mastery of education theory and pedagogy through the strategies he implemented in his classes. So Matt's Superprof style is innovative, moving beyond direct teaching to implement critical thinking and independent learning, encouraging students to become independent learners.
Matt was trustworthy because he always made our academic mission a priority and consistently conducted himself with integrity and high ethical standards.
For the above reasons, his high ethical standards, work ethic, and deep understanding of education pedagogy, I recommend Matt for this position.Matt is not only one of the most experienced, worldly, and educated colleagues that I have ever had, but is also inspirational in his patience and professionalism.
Matt's knowledge and perspective, helped me greatly during my second year of teaching. I was fortunate enough to share a classroom with him and happy to have called him a mentor.
Matt is an incredibly trustworthy individual, a loving husband and father and never ceases modeling excellence and integrity to those he teaches.Matt is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced educator. His passion for the subject is clear, and he does a fantastic job of making complex topics easy to understand. He's also very friendly and approachable, which creates a comfortable learning environment. Highly recommended!
Matt really enjoys learning and wants his students to also learn! He’s adventurous in science and vocabulary! He also likes music. Has been to many places around the world! He has 2 daughters also. Is very good with them. Dependable.
