About Karen

For over three decades, singing has been my profession. I've voiced radio station IDs and jingles broadcast worldwide, recorded with production houses including Reelworld and IQ Beats, and performed live on big stages.

Every lesson I teach draws on that experience. I've worked with hundreds of singers, from complete beginners to those building a career. Some have gone on to sing professionally. Others have simply found the confidence to sing for the joy of it, which matters just as much.

Wherever you're starting from, my job is to meet you there and help you get the most from your voice.

I'm also CPD certified through Vocal Process, which means I've completed accredited professional training in diagnosing how each singer's voice works.

About the lesson

Whether you're finding your voice for the first time, gigging regularly, preparing for drama school or musical theatre auditions, or recording in the studio, these lessons are built around you. They're equally suited to anyone who feels they've hit a plateau and wants to move forward.

What we'll focus on:

- Range: reaching higher notes with ease and blending smoothly between chest and head voice
- Stamina: singing through a full set or long rehearsal without tiring or going hoarse
- Technique: accurate pitch, agility, and a range that feels comfortable
- Vocal health: warm-up and recovery routines that keep your voice healthy for years
- Audition preparation, if you need it: picking the right song and cut, and performing it confidently under pressure

How lessons run:

We start by looking at where you are now. I'll listen, identify what's holding you back, and we'll agree clear goals together. From then on, each lesson works on the songs you're actually singing and finishes with focused exercises to practise before we next meet. I keep track of your progress throughout, so you'll always know what's improving and what we're tackling next.
