About George
I have recently completed my four year integrated master's degree in chemistry in which I achieved a first class honours. Through the degree and my time in school, I have developed a deep understanding of all the fundamental areas of chemistry. This has been accomplished through years of hard work and dedication, learning to overcome many academic barriers along the way. Therefore, I am eager to share my experiences with younger learners of chemistry in order to help deal with the same hurdles I have in learning this challenging but deeply rewarding subject. I am also due to commence a PGCE in chemistry and the associated training in order to become a qualified secondary school science teacher with a chemistry specialism. The pedagogical methods I learn from this will be applied in my tutoring. Together we can eradicate the intimidation that this advanced subject can cause and instead start to feel a sense of fascination about the matter that surrounds us.

The lessons will take a steady pace as we begin getting to know one another and grow your confidence. Initially, we will discuss and identify the topics you struggle with the most and practise these until you feel comfortable. The best way to learn chemistry and solidify your knowledge is through example problems, so this will be the predominant method of learning. The lessons are an hour in length. As a recent chemistry graduate, I am best equipped to assist with higher level chemistry at the GCSE and A level stages. With previous experience spanning two academic years tutoring A level chemistry, I have become very conscious of the topics that pose the most challenges to students and this has allowed me to develop effective methods of explaining and showcasing them to ensure that the student completely comprehends them.
