About Emma-Christie
Hi, I'm Emma-Christie! I'm a 5th-year student in a double bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Ottawa.
What exactly do I study in school? Basically, how to build houses, roads, and bridges ️
For the past year, I've worked as a teaching assistant at uOttawa, helping students get more comfortable with math and science. Outside of class, you'll find me into physics, outdoor adventures, music, and cooking.
My motto: "Science shouldn't be scary." I believe anyone can get good at math, physics, and chemistry once it's explained the right way — and I'm here to make that happen for you.

I tutor math, physics, and chemistry for grades 9–12 — and I especially love working with students who think science "just isn't for them." Spoiler: it usually just wasn't explained in a way that clicked yet.
My approach:
I use visuals and real-life examples instead of jumping straight to formulas — think roller coasters for physics, fizzy soda for chemistry
Lots of hands-on stuff: sketches, quick experiments, simulations — seeing it makes it stick way better than just reading about it
No judgment zone — questions are always welcome, even the "dumb" ones (spoiler: they never are)
A typical lesson:
Quick check-in on what's been confusing
Introduce the new concept with a visual or example first, formula second
Practice together — I show you how to think it through, not just the answer
You try a few on your own while I'm right there
Quick recap so it all connects to what's next
