Too many singers struggle with vocal tension because they ignore basic resonance. It sounds like you are pushing too hard when the tone should flow easily.
Having an MMus Vocal Studies helps me simplify complex theory for absolute beginners and exam candidates alike. I incorporate specific warm-up exercises into every single session we hold. You will find that I assign vocal drills for homework after every meeting to keep your progress moving steadily. We keep the atmosphere light and playful to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your learning process.

Singing started for me within the BBC Symphony Orchestra where I spent 13 years performing across many stages. My teaching practice serves returning learners, grade exam candidates, absolute beginners, and those who want more structure in their vocal life. I hold an MMus Vocal Studies from the Royal Academy of Music.
These 13 years of teaching have taught me that clear communication matters most. I focus on technical health so you never strain your voice.
Rhythm and phrasing are the cornerstones of my pedagogy. Microphone technique and belting are also part of what I offer. I enjoy a good cup of tea while discussing opera history.
