About Gianna

I’ve always been a total history nerd. Growing up in a family with a rich military history, I developed a deep fascination with how the U.S. engages with the world. That spark turned into a lifelong pursuit; I spent my school years immersed in AP History, Government, and Mock Trial, obsessed with understanding the mechanics of power and justice.

My academic journey at Coastal Carolina University—where I earned my degree in Intelligence & National Security with minors in Middle Eastern and Peace & Conflict Studies—was fueled by that same curiosity. For my senior thesis, I dove deep into a comparison between the Fall of Saigon and the Fall of Kabul, exploring the lessons history repeats.

Whether I’m reading about the strategic turning points of WWII or the complexities of the Vietnam War, I’m always looking for the "why" behind the "what." In the classroom, I bring that same energy. I focus on a logical "what, when, and how" approach to make complex global narratives feel accessible and exciting.

I truly believe history is for everyone. I welcome learners of all ages and levels, and I’m dedicated to helping every student build the critical thinking skills they need to navigate our modern world.

About the lesson

As a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a B.A. in Intelligence & National Security Studies and minors in Middle Eastern Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies, I bring a specialized, analytical perspective to the classroom. My academic background provides the expertise necessary to teach diverse topics within History and Social Studies, with a particular focus on:

U.S. Military History: Analyzing American involvement and strategic decision-making in global conflicts.

Middle Eastern Affairs: Examining the historical and geopolitical roots of regional tensions.

Global Terrorism: Understanding the evolution of conflict and the impact of non-state actors.

I employ a logical teaching methodology that prioritizes the what, when, and how of historical events. By focusing on causality and objective analysis, I encourage students to look beyond basic facts to understand the strategic drivers of history.

I am dedicated to helping students develop the critical thinking skills needed to navigate complex global narratives and welcome learners of all ages and ability levels. I am confident in my capability to adapt these complex subjects into engaging, accessible lessons for any audience.

I offer a flat rate of $18/hour, reflecting my ability to teach all age groups across a diverse range of topics. I am also happy to provide supplemental homework and extracurricular activities at no extra charge. It’s a service parents tend to love (even if the students aren't always as enthusiastic!), but I believe it’s the best way to ensure the material really sticks.
