About Ben
I am a Euphonium/Trombone player based in Atlanta, GA with 14 years of both classical and jazz performance experience. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in Music Composition and have interests and experience with many different facets of music-making. I've conducted Hairspray for community theater, written music to be performed during a museum exhibition, led rehearsals for and conducted a student-organized ensemble, produced an electronic song that was broadcast over national radio - if it involves music or sound, I'm your guy!

My teaching is based around the intersectionality of music theory, performance technique, and auditory skills. Whether you're learning how to read notes, how to identify a V chord, or taking composition lessons, we will touch on aspects of solfege, interval training, and keyboard competency.
My lessons are for every and any one with a desire to better understand music. I am a big proponent of catered teaching and will devise custom lesson plans and teaching strategies based on what and how earnestly the student wishes to learn.

Excellent! Was a good experience
Perfect! Ben is really nice and has a very pedagogical approach of the trombone.
Perfect! Ben is a very knowledgeable tutor who has taught my son techniques other teachers did not. My son’s sound has improved noticeably and I think he is much better prepared for high school music opportunities than when Ben started working with him. Ben is also encouraging and kind and my son looks forward to his lesson!

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I've known Ben for the past 5 years and I've learned to know over the years that he is one of the most passionate musicians I've ever met. I've received a mini lesson from him, and it was extremely helpful and gave me a new perspective on the music that I hadn't thought of before. Definitely worth your time in getting lessons from him.
I worked alongside Ben at a donut shop for some time. Despite being irrelevant to the job we were doing at the time, it was impossible to know this man without recognizing his inexhaustible passion and wealth of knowledge in music and theory. His skills to make music feel accessible and understandable to people regardless of their level of prior knowledge are matched only by his effervescence and sense of humor. Not only is he a very capable educator by nature, he is an absolute delight and the perfect person to sow future generations of talented and passionate musicians.
Ben is one of my esteemed colleagues from our time at college. I had the pleasure of spending four years with him and can honestly say that he is one of the most hard-working individuals anyone could ever meet.
Ben is very thorough and will leave nothing out when it comes to lessons. Each session will be packed with a plethora of knowledge interlaced with own encounters with life to create a pleasant overall experience.
You won’t want to pass up an opportunity to work with Ben by any means; he is wonderful!Ben is a dedicated and talented musician and composer. He is very easy to connect with and knows how to make any situation fun. He has truly followed his calling in life and will be an excellent role model for any aspiring musician.
