About Gurmehar
Hello dear
My name is Gurmehar Kaur. My deep love for numbers empowered me to pursue commerce as my major during my undergraduate. I have been an auditor with EY for two years. My belief in children being change makers led me to become a Math educator with Teach For All, India, where I taught 70 exuberant girls. They describe me as amicable and nurturing. While my career path is paving toward becoming an HR, my firm belief in empowering children and enabling them to overcome challenges inspires me to continue teaching in some capacity. My hope for each child is that they let go of their fear of math and start to bond well with numbers that will open up a new horizon of opportunities for themselves and others.

# Connecting math to day-to-day activities, logic games and building on the student's subject grip form the basis of my teaching method. All my lessons have a prerequisite which helps me understand their pre-acquired knowledge and personalize the lesson according to students' needs. The most effective and enjoyable method I incorporate in my lessons is CPA, i.e. Concrete + Pictoral + Abstract.
The method lets pupils develop a deep understanding of the concept through 3 different approaches and their senses.
# My lessons are 45-60 mins.
# I have a 2-year of experience teaching math to Grade 8 to Grade 10 students in a public school in India.
# My lessons are for Grade 1 to Grade 10 students, i.e. 5 to 16 years old (as per Indian Education Board)
