About Adefonahanmi

My name is Adefonahanmi, I am a Nigerian and live in Nigeria well. I studied Christian Religious Studies in Kogi State University Ayingba. I enjoy teaching kids, teenagers and adults because it's always fun. I love it when my class is interactive, because I enjoy talking and exchanging ideas with learners which I believe would improve their morale. My belief is that teachers are molders of life, so we can't afford to portray a bad image to them. Just as I teach them, I also learn from them, there is freedom of speech in my class which has encouraged learners to be free to interact with me. I crack jokes a lot and tease learners sometimes, this is just to make them more comfortable with their tutor and at the same time, I detest noise, I am strict with assignments. I may ask learners personal questions whenever it's necessary, and also answer my students' questions that are answerable. For example, if I notice any sudden changes that a learner exhibits, which is different from normal and regular response or behavior. There is always a flow of communication between my students and I, this has helped me to discover more about them. I always ensure that I finish my lessons for the week. My hobbies are writing, reading, research, listening to inspirational music and messages. I am cheerful, humble, generous, godly and a disciplinarian.

About the lesson

Experience: I've taught English language for over 3 years now both in school and at home as a second language. I've taught different aspects of English language such as reading, grammar, essay writing, spelling and pronunciations. English speaking is the focus of this lesson. So, if you are a student that is slow in reasoning and communicating, timid or poor at reading, or an adult who wants to learn English language as a foreigner, you may want to benefit from this lesson because it involves a lot of conversation. Methodology: My class is always interesting and interactive because I enjoy seeing learners improve tremendously and communicating with ease. I utilize charts, group discussion, practical exercises and interesting activities, video recordings, speech presentations, etc. as my methods. I respond to students according to their needs, because some learners learn very fast while some of them may be slow. Lesson Plans: Monday can be for reading, Thursdays for grammar, Friday for presentation depending on the aspect you need most. External examinations have been very easy for my students because I also make use of British curriculum for students. For beginners, English language lesson requires a gradual process. My lesson schedule will be 1 hour per day which would be on Monday, Thursday, and Friday only. I will always be available anytime from 6pm-7pm (Nigeria Time), for now. I challenge my students a lot because I give them tests at any time unannounced which may be immediately after lesson. I'm my students' academic advisor because I teach them different ways by which they can improve their personalities and academic performance. I look forward to working with you and discussing your goals.
